diagnostic code 2-3-1 900 1991

I will double check that it is the only code. The "blinking" stopped after the 2-3-1 code was signaled. I'm obviously not an expert with this but I put the pin in port "2" and hit the button (ingition on). The led blinked out 2-3-1 but nothing else.

I have been having some intermittent performance problems for some time. The car would lose power and I would have to stop and turn the car off and back on and many times if fixed it. Lately it has been getting worse but the car always started but sometimes harder starts than others.

When this occurred, I started the car and don't remember problems with the initial start. I had severe performance problems right away and drove about 150 feet, pulled over and went through my routine of restarting the car. This time it did not restart. When starting the car would kick over but die immediately. After a couple of hours I went back and tried to restart again.
This time I pumped the gas quickly when it turned over and was able to limp home but it was difficult keeping the car from stalling. If I were any further away I would have had to tow it due to danger.
