Knock Knock... 120-130 1967

Hello Phil:

Knock knock - still there.

Man, am I perplexed. I did everything, and I mean EVERYTHING by the book. The knock is still there, perhaps worse than before.

If you recall, I mentioned that the cam had recessed a tad and you suggested that the valve springs were putting enough pressure on the cam to keep me from manually pulling it forward. Is it possible that 85 lb/ft. of torque, when applied to the camshaft nut, is not enough force to bring it forward? Is it possible that the timing gear is snugged to the new $45.00 plus tax and shipping thrust plate and not to the spacer ring?

Sorry to beat a dead horse but good grief, my attention to detail here rivals Renault's F1 team.

Cheers,

Jeff Pucillo
