Count the carbs.

Pretty much every single PV ever (oficially) imported to the US was a 'Sport' model. Basically means (AFAIK) a 4 speed manual and two carbs on the motor. Lower end models in other markets sometimes had 3 speed transmission, single (Zenith) carbs.

Of course Volvo still ensured that the $$$P1800$$$ was the fastest car they sold by neutering the PV's B18 with a tractor cam.
