That was always my understanding, the PV544 A and B came with B16 engines, the cooking model had a B16 with a single Zenith whereas the Sport had twin SU HS 4 As far as I know no single carb models were sold in the US. No Sports were sold in Sweden because US import duty was based on the domestic price, hence only low spec models were sold in Sweden to keep the duty payable down
