Disassembling the speedo is a piece of cake compared to getting the darn thing out of the dash. Removing the light switch and choke control helps provide enough room to manouver the cluster through the dash opening.

Go slow and careful when removing the long chrome strip below the dash pad. The trim strip should have a couple of threaded posts with retaining nuts where you might be expecting a clip.
