Yes, it is the gear that fits in the back of the tranny to drive the speedo
cable. Would you believe they come in different COLORS??
Apparently one or two teeth difference does not cause enough change in diameter
to keep it from working OK. The mating gear is kind of like an oversized
worm gear.
