NO. I have the Garmin C330 which is the very basic unit. Considered almost obselete now ( they sell for $179) and I love it. On crappy cloudy days, it hangs in there. I drive Upsate all the time... never a problem.
It does loose satelite reception for about 1 minute when crossing the bridges ( Throgs Neck or George Washington) but there's a lot of metal interference there.

The C330 doesn't have all the Bluetooth crap and MP3 player but I wanted a GPS not a surround sound system.
