Intermittent Stalling, No Restart 120-130 1968

Why not go back to a points style ignition - mine will get 30MPG and hasn't caused any problems. My new engine has a '75 240 electronic system, which is better yet than points. The point I guess I would like to make is that you seem to change all the variables with each post and don't seem to be getting anywhere.

So IMHO, I think you should stop swaping heads, changing ignitions, swaping out old carbs etc., and get back to the start point. Keep everything constant and change one variable, measure the change, then repeat on another variable until you've got a solution.

Also I've got two bins in my garage for parts...one is for used parts that are to be repaired (clearly marked with yellow duct tape) and NOT used until they are rebuilt. The other is filled with completely rebuilt parts that are ready to install when needed.

So back to the start - check compression hot and make sure everything is OK there (chech that your cam has lobes). Then check fuel (REBUILT carbs are cheaper than fuel), then spark.

Craig
