Well, I ran a temporary direct line to from the Battery+ to the Coil+ (same difference) and the car started and ran fine with that
The problem is that the ignition problem is not presenting itself right now and the car is starting and running fine with the key and normal coil power.
That's why diagnosis has been so difficult. If I had known to try that "trick" yesterday when the problem was presenting itself, I might have found the problem
I've replaced a few connections and the wire from the coil to the ignition switch. I've also got the coil "jumper" wire in the trunk, so if the car stalls in the AM, I can check there.
5:30 is very early light and I can usually see when I'm near work. So I'll see what happens tomorrow.
Thanks for the suggestions.
