Help - Poor idle; poor acceleration; missing 700

Hey,

The reason why the ring can slip on the damper and not change the timing is because these engines (B230F, FT) use a crankshaft damper that is not one piece. Its made out of two pieces of metal and has rubber in between. the inner section that is connected to the crank will remain in place, but the outer section can slip and give you bizarre timing marks. A weak fuel pump can make the motor run very poorly. If your fuel pressure is down over 10 psi from spec, the pump is probably pretty weak. What spark plugs did you use? As others have mentioned, the catalyst can possibly be plugged especially if its the original.

Regards, Jon
