Well, I started working on my wife's v90 around 11 p.m. tonight, and I quit around 1:30. I planned on getting as much of the Oil Trap O-ring job done tonight and then wrap it up in the morning. I can honestly say this is the seccond dumbest project I've ever done on a car (the first being--no surprise here--the PCV valve on my Nissan pickup).

Here's the list so far:
-Remove fan
-remove the accessory belt
-remove the power steering pump (why this thing require 5 bolts to hold it in place boggles the mind)
-remove the alternator
-remove upper coolant hose
-remove part of air box
-remove PCV box

SNAP! Whoops, I just broke the upper hose fitting on the PCV box because that ridiculous oetiker clamp refused to come off.

Now, tomorrow I have to go to the grocery store and buy a big tub of vaseline because i know the dealership is going to rape me on the purchase of the new PCV box. Hell the O-ring cost over $10 from them, so I can only imagine that they will want over $100 for a real live piece of plastic.

I can honestly say that this job is not worth fixing a minor oil leak and saving a few MPG. I regret ever attempting it. I've owned other cars that put the PCV valve in easliy accessible and serviceable places. I don't understand why this has to be so needlessly difficult.
