My old 1972 145 was equipped with HIF6s which were not bad, but the car would always diesel on shutdown. I think that engine was a standard B20B.
Your motor has has a lot of work done to it, it may be that you'll need to install some non-standard needles to get it to behave.
The main issue I had with my HIFs on a B18B and B20E was that I could never get it to idle properly and when it idled well it was way too weak under load and would lean-pop constantly. *Really* annoying since I went to the HIFs because I wanted to NOT have to adjust the mixture seasonally...
