940 In-Tank Fuel Pump Failure: Duh!!

Chris, the odds of me leaving a 940 RWD for a FWD (or even AWD) Volvo are slim. I will stay in the RWD world of the 940's as long as practical. Also remember, I had a 16-valve so I learned not to lose sleep over timing belts. Between semi-retirement and an in-home office I don't exactly rack up commuter mileage, so I may well be in a nursing home before that pump packs it in. We've also got two '95 945's, so the first one to drain my wallet goes. Plus the other one has the leather, sunroof, turbo, bars, springs, hitch and dog (excuse me, "cargo") gate so it's more likely to get my attention and yes, maybe even a genuine Bosch fuel pump.

Your comment about price leverage on buying out of town is a perennial problem, especially if you have to pay for a plane ticket to get there and ask them to pick you up at the airport. It's sometimes hard to make up a good story as to why you might be just passing through their area and may be able to spare a few minutes to look at the car. It's not like shopping across town for a used lawnmower where you can hide your extra cash leaving just enough in your wallet to cover a low ball offer (gee, I only have $20 on me).
