Hexes Flood... 120-130 1967

Hello Derek:

Thanks for the response. Yes, it has been cold here HOWEVER it has warmed up considerably during the day and all of my starts have been in weather well above freezing. Indeed, the car has turned over without any choke at all. Then it dies. Then nothing, even if I open the choke all the way.

I have not tried starting it with the air filters in place. Maybe I will do that tomorrow morning.

The thing that baffles me here is how beautifully simple these SU units are. There are only four adjustments: idle screw setting, choke "fast speed" screw setting, float level and jet height. Everything seems to be in the proper place. I actually ran the jets all the up to level with the "deck" and tried to start it again a few hours ago and nothing doing.

I would not mind so much except I do not even have a driveway so twice a week Wendy and I have to push the car to the other side of the street for alternate parking. What a crazy life we Volvo junkies live.

Tell me more about your ignition idea and how I might rule that out with some diagnostics.

Cheers,

Pooch
