Scott, my sympathies...I had a 760 TI and did an in-car- rebuild.
The OHcam engine uses no lifters, only a spacer between
cam-lobe and valve-tip. The last time I dealt with a stuck
valve issue I poured diesel into the carb which quickly
loosened it up.(it smoked briefly)
I had a diesel with the same unusual problem and it turned
out to be a burned valve-seat, which allowed compression only
at higher revs.(unusual for a diesel to exhibit a missfire)
I extend my compliments on your pyrometer-trick.
The injector would be the least expensive fix, so I'll hope
it is found to be the problem.
Best Wishes!
