I've owned a 760T and now own an 850T wagon.
There is no comparing these two cars except on a few minor issues.
Differences...
The 760 was a much heavier "tank" of a car that drove great, had huge top-end speed and was very reliable drive-train wise.
The 850 is much, much lighter (at the sacrifice of weaker suspension, body panels, frame and engine block.) On the up-side the 850 is a lot more fun to drive.
Similarities...
Both cars suck as far as brake longevity.
Both cars suck as far as relays and other electrical issues.
Both cars suck as far as where they located the ashtray (shifter has to be in drive for insert to be removed, - yes smoking kills, I just don't need any extra help), and also the fact that an adjustable intermittent wiper relay doesn't seem important.
Conclusion...
I wouldn't drive any other car. Why? - Because for an 8-10 year old "grocery-getter" you just can't find a better vehicle. They are still servicable by the average owner, and are still rated as one of the safest cars on the road.
Find yourself a good independant mechanic, most of the dealer mechanics don't like working on a vehicle over 3 years old (warranty), cause they might get that spiffy jump-suit dirty.
