Hi.
I'm in the middle of removing the engine/transmission assembly in my 90 245, NA and auto with a leaking rear crankshaft seal. Bentley says to disconnect the header pipe from the exhaust manifold and I would like to leave it alone, instead freeing the header at the cat.
My reason is that I've just recently replaced exhaust manifold gaskets and the header to manifold joint is new, while the header to cat joint is leaking and needs coming off anyway.
The header hugs the engine and tranny so I think I can do this, but it extends about 6 inches beyond the tranny. Does anyone know if this will cause me any grief ?
Thanks, Peter
