I believe Randy and I were trying to determine if engine removal is really necessary.

I wish someone had clued me in to this when I replaced the clutch in my '63 MGB in 1970 (my first major automotive repair). But I relied on advice from my supposedly knowledgeable friends and it resulted in a lot more work not to mention expense.

I would like to think that Peter is more sophisticated in this endeavor than I was 50 years ago. But I really don't know if that is the case.
