why use longer rods in a turbo motor?
1 the longer rods and sooper bitchin pistons he's getting are over 400 grams lighter a hole.
2 longer rods will make the engine more "ping" resistant and let him run less overal ignition timing.
3 the shorter pin to deck height will make a more stable piston and cut down on bore wear.
4 the longer rods will have less side load on the crank.
there will be a reduction in low end torque , but hey its a 3 liter.
if he's going to get forged pistons anyway, why not get something thats light, strong, responsive, and stable?
