Wait a minute... 140-160

I've built long rod motors in the past. As long as 158mm with 77.5mm stroke. (for a sub 2 litre engine, 90.5mm x 77.5mm)

longer rods increase the dwell time at TDC. if you need more info than that i'll link you to a bunch of articals and tecnical papers.

Please post the links. My opinions on long rods is that they are a good fix for some overall design flaws. Plenty of people have done back to back tests on typical 350 cube SBC’s comparing 5.7” to 6” long rods & the mechanical advantages of the longer rod are marginal at best. The NASCAR folks use long rods on big ovals, but it’s unlikely that they would on a road circuit. Lots of people talk about the ideal ratio & back in the ‘80’s & ‘90’s that was something around 2:1. Now it’s something around 1.75:1, but if you look in BMW’s & Honda’s best motors they are using around 1.5:1, as do the humungous SBC & SBF with the great heads that are available these days.
