Re: Flame on 700 1991

Don, et alii: any proctologist could tell you that opinions about dealers are like...(the good doctor's stock-in-trade): everybody's got one! That said, there is an uncanny (disclaiming obviousness of puns) parallel between the many diagnostic problems of VoVos, and with dealers: great when good, horrible when bad, frustrating when intermittent. There are at least 3 major dealers in the DC area, with SOME good techs on SOME of the 'teams', SOME of the time. There are a BUNCH of indy mechs who are making out JUST FINE, thank you, picking up the overflow from those dealers, and getting fat (sort of) from the MANY people who are so p-o'ed with the dealers that the indys will ALWAYS get their business. A sad commentary, but true. Will things change under the Ford admin-ass-tration? Veddy in-te-res-ting, nicht wahr? We shall see. We shall see. My view? If you're happy with a dealer, stay with 'em. If not, ask yer friends for a good indy: I suspect that there are a lot more good indys than there are dealers...--PD.
