Rear axle differences 120-130

Hmm... well, the dana 30 as found in a 122 will confuse most any 4x4 guy whos familiar with the same units as found in jeeps.. the pumpkin and contents within are all the same, but the axle shafts about the same as the dana/spicer 27. You may well be able to swap 'em.

a little bit of in/out movement is not abnormal, but it sounds like yours is excessive. Could be just that you need to pull some shims, but I would think htat would be indicative of worn bearings. them rear end gears all sorta just float about in there between the axles,, so I could see if you move one axle in, it would push the other one out a bit. Of course though, that ain't right either, and could mean the ring/pinion setup are worn, and thus fallen out of adjustment.

In any event, I wouldn't think just swapping axle shafts would help a bit.

You still got the 145? Sounds like its about time to give it some drive time :-) Drop me an email...I'd love to hear about the new job and waht else is new...
