Weird behavior or temp gauge (or overheating problem) 200 1983

Might Be An Electrical Quirk. I Used To Have A 1982 240DL That When Car Was In Reverse Temp Needle Shot Up To Red Zone. Put It Out Of Reverse And Temp Needle Dropped Down To Normal. Doubt If It Is Temp Sensor Or Gauge. Good Luck.
