Weird behavior or temp gauge (or overheating problem) 200 1983

My temp gauge shows hotter than it is (whatever it "shows").
People usually think the temp gauge in a 240 is no better than an idiot light.

Look, the car is either overheating or it isn't, and it probably isn't.
240 metal is great, gauges/electrical not so much.
