Injection Fuel Pump 140-160

A carburetor has a reserve of fuel in it to allow momentary
fuel starvation, such as if you were making a hard left turn
and the fuel sloshes to one side away from the fuel pick up
and the fuel system gets bubbles in the fuel lines. Once these
bubbles get into the fuel injectors, it screws up the whole
fuel metering system and the car stops running correctly until
the bubbles are purged.

A surge tank (or a fuel tank designed for fuel injection)
is designed to prevent bubbles from getting into the high
pressure fuel system.

I think when putting FI onto a 122 people use a 145E tank.
