I once hit a woman driving a 90 Camaro. Coming up to a red light, as the traffic begins to move it goes about 100 feet and stops again (some person at the front trying to make an illegal left turn). Here I come. The light turns green and as I see the traffic begin to move, I slow down to about 40 MPH while expecting to blend with the traffic speed as it moves from the light. Big Mistake, I too late realize that the traffic had stopped again and slide (86 240, no ABS) into the rear end of the woman driving the Camaro. I hit her pretty hard and luckily no one was injured. The end result was I drove away afterwards (no ticket by the way) while the Camaro had to be towed. My 86 showed little damage (cracked headlight and grill) while the other car had it's rear fenders touching the wheels.
My son attends a college 350 miles from home and drives a 91 240 that I've owned for 11 years. I rest easier knowing that he's driving his "brick" when he's coming or going on the freeway.
