I like DAVESHAN's response.

Aside from the fact the Volvo is designed to fold and absorb the impact that the newer airbags are designed for. The 'get in trouble' factor is reduced by the the torque and pony's under the hood.

These cars tend not to be invitations for other youngsters to race you. They are also not a magnet for every cops eyes.

Great 'get-around' car for a kid that needs to do just that.
