Esther had airbags that worked properly. They broke both her arms.
She had LOTS of other injuries and was in ICU for 6 weeks before they
were reasonably confident that she would survive. (Geo metro)
At that point they had considerable doubt that she would ever walk
again. (She does fine, one leg 1" shorter)
Might want to check how many traffic deaths there have been in that
model.
