Multilink to straight axle?

I know from riding in a 740 with an LS 1 that if you put too much power to the independent rear axle, all the combined flex in the various bushings causes the rear wheels to hit the front of the wheelhousing upon acceleration, also seriously uppsetting the rear alignment.
It is simply not designed with V8 torque in mind.
