Be willing to make some concessions if the dealer really doesn't have a V50 to your specs. What I mean by this is getting another '05 V50 that isn't quite your specs but at least close. Dealers have "dealer buy" or "dealer swap" programs where they buy or trade with/from other dealers. Demand that they contact other dealers across the country for your car and have them "haul it" on a truck to where you are. Yes, they do this...I have a friend who does this for a living for Volvo...he all the time runs to Atlanta, Birmingham and farther (I'm in Knoxville) for dealer buys or dealer swaps to pick up new cars the local dealer wants but doesn't have.
Oh, and by the way, since they promised you late April, early May...whenever you feel that "early May" is about over, demand that they give you a "loaner car" until yours comes in.
BTW, do you have a contract? Something in writing? If so, it would be a good idea to look over it and possibly have an attorney look over it. Sometimes a phone call or a letter from your friend, the lawyer can help move things along.
Good luck!
