I put that pump on a customer's car with the understanding that he was being the guinea pig. I don't know how many miles he's got on it now, but can't see any reason it shouldn't last as long as an OE pump.
Yep, the D-jet intake manifolds sound like jet engines with the accordion tube off. If you want to run a K&N filter, find a way to mount it out in front of the radiator. Cooler air is better for performance than air that's been heated going through the radiator. It's also a whole lot quieter that way.
