Locksmith woes 444-544

It is odd that the locksmith didn't go ahead and pick the cylinder to turn it so you could get it out. Maybe he didn't know it comes out by pressing a pin when the switch is in the ON position.

In your situation I believe I would first try to force the cylinder to turn with a screwdriver until I could get the pin pushed down to extract the cylinder. Failing that I would drill the cylinder to extract it. Then buy a new cylinder and key; about $60. Available from Vintage Import Parts, PN 673261 -- lock cylinder for ignition switch with 2 keys.
