yes it is probably the way too fast part (the 240 s and the 740s all had 60 litre fuel tanks (unless it was desiel, or the odd "optional tank)) to get the milage I did, I drove no faster than 120km/h. If I go too much faster (140+) then the milage does go down. Interestingly the best milage I ever got with the 740 was on a trip to Cincinati I got over 700km while going 120-130km/h, and still had fuel left in the car (10 litres or so). So your milage is probably right for driving "way too fast".
