How do i check my coil? 1800

Hi. Original coils are made of unobtanium. On 2002, the cvi catalog priced it on 4115 kronar (some US$420 aprox.).

In my experience, if your coil are shot, you need to remove the old one *plus* the ignition key lock system on the panel (part of the coil)and replace it with a standard ignition key system (valley forge brand are very similar on face with the original) plus a blue bosh coil (attach it with the clamp plus a hand made support, or directly with only the clamp on the horizontal area right over the brake and clutch master cylinders (on the id tag area). You need to run a electrical cable from the ignition key system to the (+) on the coil.

Additionaly, if you use a electronic ignition (pertronix, crane, and similars), a red bosch coil plus resistor are a good upgrade (the red coil erode points, dont use with points).
