My tech-english comes a little to test here, but I hope I can give you the idea of what I'm thinking of.
You say you have replaced rotor - in this thread I assume it is the rotor for the distributor? -Or is it actually the "hole thing"?
Anyway - there are many different rotors, some that adjust ignition-time with vacuum from carburettor, some with centrifugal-force (?) -small weights that adjust according to speed of rotation..
Your problem sounds like a problem like that - that ignition doesn't follow the rpm's - and that leads me to point at rotor.
