Hi Dennis,
I promissed to return on this..
First! -with KA needles you are very wrong. KA needles where for the B18D engine and was also used for the very early B18 "Sport" engine that only had the normal A-camshaft!!
The setup with KA needles gives you way too low fuel for a B20E.
Are you sure your engine is a "true" B20E?
-it should run with a D-camshaft. If so, the KD needles will be the best choice!
If you don't really know your engine from the "inside" - your problem can also be wear of camshaft.
The distributor:
The "centrifugal one" as you have, are known to be the worst in perspect of wear and so. The weight-system is very difficult to work in order, when the distributor is normally worn. Go for another!
The late B20-ones, with alloy housing are the best to last.
It doesn't really matter if the distributor if off a B20A or B20 anything...
Anyway - there is no doubt - start with changing the needles, the KA are "wrong" for your setup.
Hope you get my points!
/Soren
