That's true but since your point was all about emissions I thought I'd stick to ... emissions.

But you have more control over how rich it gets under accelleration and how lean it gets under cruise with fuel injection. Just a matter of massaging the fuel curve tables and acceleration enrichment values with a laptop. And the injectors atomize the fuel better under all conditions, which helps drivability when running lean.
