some additional info (NT) 120-130

I'm a little late at seeing this thread.
Too busy trying to get some testing done.
Thanks for all of the nice comments.

I'll throw in a couple of clarifications that may help.

The Mikuni kit will soon be on the market as soon as we finish sorting the jetting changes needed for different applications - B18, B20, modified B20s, etc.
As usual, I only have modified cars here to test on so it takes a little time to work it out on the others. Coincidentally, earlier today I committed to sending Phil a set to test on his 122 in place of a set of 45 DCOE Webers.

The introductory price is going to be around $750 with air filters and linkage - everthing needed to bolt them on in place of SUs and go. A set of 45 DCOE sidedraft webers, new with intake manifold, linkage and air filters would be close to twice that at todays prices, with a few extra jets needed to do tuning.

Not sure how many of you know it, but Weber has not been producing carbs for most of this year. They may go back into production at some point, but quality has gone down over the past couple of years and prices have gone way up, so there were several reasons to look for alternatives.

I'm not ready to release performance data until we have done testing on more cars, have had them on the dyno with some before and after comparisons, etc. In other words, when I give you data, its going to be accurate. Most of the testing that I have done with this carb, almost a year's worth now, has been as a replacement for the weber DCOE on our supercharger system where I was never satisfied with the fuel mileage we were getting. With the Mikuni the fuel mileage has improved by over 10 mpg and the Mikuni, in a modified state, has replaced the sidedraft weber on that kit. I can give you some data from that testing: 1972 140, stock B20F engine, stock exhaust, 10 lbs. max boost, 183 HP, 26 mpg at 70 - 75 mph mountainous highway driving with 4.3 gearing, no overdrive. The best that I got with a weber on the same 600 mile trip on the same road was 18 mpg, with overdrive. Essentially it was working with the carb in the supercharger application, as well as researching how others were using it, that convinced me that it was a natural as an SU replacement on our Volvos. Of course the fact that it was designed by Mikuni as an SU replacement might have had something to do with this adaptability. It was designed to replace SU carbs on Harleys.

Now back to work and hopefully off the computer for at least 24 hours, so don't expect any immediate responses if there are questions.
