I don't mean to start a flame war, but you're asking a question in this original post, and answering it yourself in the others.
Did you start this thread to get a feel for what luck others have had, to change peoples minds, to blow off steam, to warn people off of FCP, or something else? I'd like to know what others experiences have been lately too, but the majority of your responses seem to be giving your opinion, which doesn't work well for me when I'm asking people what they think.
I too remember the good old days of "where the ____ is this part listed?", when everything was sorted by category. The new website is slightly easier to navigate (and it has photos! heh).
I had a few blips in the space of a few months a few years ago, which turned out to be a problem with UPS letting my box roll around in their truck for 2 months, and then leaving it about a mile from my house under a phone pole. FCP shipped me replacements because it was a few castle nuts and other fiddly parts worth <$20. I'd bought a lot from them, and I've lost a few orders.
I've noticed a change in their company from steady and super reliable for parts and info - and not in a hurry - with $15 shipping per order (to the West Coast) to a much more fast paced place that has 10% "sales" and free shipping on orders over $200 just about 3 times a month. To be honest, they're starting to seem a lot more like IPD to me, and that isn't an improvement if you ask me. (Reading through the IPD catalog reminds me of tuner magazines on some pages and of solid professional info on others).
Overall, while I've had a few issues with them, and haven't ordered much in the last year, I'm holding my breath to see how they work out for me and the rest of the community.
