Factory H.P is rated at gross hp at a rev range which gives good driveability, IE,bare engine without w/pump,fan, a/c, alt,p/steer on engine dyno. If your wornout car was tested first before any improvments with all accessories and driving through trans mission, driveline, diff, wheels and tyres, std exhaust system, theres not much left to talk about. The true worth of a chassis dyno is as a comparator between mods and bolt ons to get the best performance for the gearing of the car be it road or track,if your looking for tenths of a second that will cost you megabucks. Before dynos HP. was all theoretical,EG PLAN over 33,000, P pressure in psi,L length of stroke in feet,A area of piston crown in square inches, N number of firing strokes per rev.Thats all they had to compere power outputs betwen engines, we have it easy. I believe there is not much difference between torque and HP as it is the ability to power the wheels best at the revs to suit the car. If after all your mods you can feel it through the seat of your pants be happy, you have had good advice with the rebuild. Dyno results can be confusing and can vary between equipment and operators. Do you have a product topside called Hyclone?, supposed to atomise fuel better and increase HP, save your money been tested on dyno here with no gain at all. Regards Jack McIntyre.
