First, the electronic climate control cannot be replaced by mechanical climate control. Too bad the dealer didn't fix it for you.

The 1995 still has OBDII, manual boxes on the right front fender AND a plug for a scanner under the coin tray in the center console.

If you want to read the mileage, use the A-7 plug. Push the black button 5 times, wait for a red light, then push the button once, wait, push again, wait, push again. If you did it right, you will then get flashing red light. Count the flashes in 3 serries, first is the 100s, second = 10s, third is 1s.
Repeat the 5-5-5, 1,1,2, for the left 3 digits of the odometer. If you get 10 blinks, that is a zero. You should get 1 - 1111 - 11111 if the odo is supposed to be 145K.

The OBDII boxes can be used for every electronic device on the car, including ABS and SRS. The only code that cannot be erased is the cruise control 1-2-2.

The 1995 is DIY friendly. Even the climate control. One word of caution, there is plenty of power to break the front wheels loose on wet pavement after the car reaches 25mph in 1st. A little dicy when turning!

I truely liked my 95 854T. Easy to work on, fast, good mpg.

Ask the owner if it has sport suspension, that will make the ride rough and the only fix for that is to replace the springs.

Timing belt is at 70K intervals. Check for maint. $2600 is a bit high for a 1995 unless it will need no maint for the next 2 years and his odo estimate is high.

-----------

The 1997 ad has me worried. Why was the engine replaced? It is $1,000 cheaper than the 1995, but will probably need some work. If the owner uses 87 octane gas, that would explain a need for a head gasket. It also makes him cheap enough to run with dirty oil and have a clogged PCV system, along with cracked vacuum lines and other missed maint items.
