Hey, engine builders, I need some guidance. 120-130 1966

"It's only when you're driving it hard up hills or cruising along at high speeds that valve seat erosion happens."

Unfortunately, almost all this engine's duty is highway miles right at the torque peak; 60-65 MPH. I will be happy if it survives through the winter. If it does live another couple of years, I should have the B230 ready to install by then.

"What valves & guides were you intending to use in your good head?"

Stock on both counts. I intend to reuse the valves unless burnt or bent.

"What do you ultimately want to end up with?"

Well, of course I it all. I want 500HP and 50MPG on 87 RON gas. ;-)

I'll settle for a noticable increase in torque everywhere below 4000RPM and 30MPG @ 65MPH. I think if I bump compression up a couple of points and open up that skinny single exhaust I will meet both goals. What say ye?
