Hey, engine builders, I need some guidance. 120-130 1966

I don't doubt any of your technical details but there's no reason why a solid lifter engine can't be "quiet". That used to be the norm. A well built engine with fresh parts should rustle rather than rattle.
What you call clearance ramps on the cams, I know as quietening ramps, and are there to ease the follower into following the curve and so let the valve down gently onto it's seat. Of course this doesn't suit a "race" cam where you want the valve open quickly and for it to stay open for as long as it can, to give the best fill.
My comment re setting the clearances with the follower on the middle of the base circle still stands and setting the clearance bigger than normal is just a compromise. If you want the best from your cam, set it to the minimum figure. Check them often and get started on building a lead free head that you can quickly swap over.
