Hey, engine builders, I need some guidance. 120-130 1966

If I have my cams straight, the .013" advice would have been from the guy that told me the engine had D cam, when it was actually the flat VV71.

So the .013" advice was actually useless information to you....

On my biggest cam I ever used, I had the exhaust valves cracking open at 90 degrees ATDC, it was the strongest engine I ever had between 3000 & 6000rpm, so it was really wasting much.(Not the most economical engine however) It was high compression with a big set of 4-1 headers. How much timing an engine needs is also a pointer to how soon you can open the exhaust.
