De-tuning a B18 444-544

Thanks, I'm going to see if I can find the ME article.
I've seen several references to running the coolant through a heat exchanger for domestic hot water and/or heating use. I think, however, that something like that would only make sense if you run the thing for really long periods of time, or if you have a shop away from your regular power supply, where you could use the electricity and the heat simultaneously. I'm not interested in going "off the grid", but would just like to have a robust, stand-by power source that can be moved to work-sites away from the house.
