De-tuning a B18 444-544

How much power do you want and at what rpm? You might want to consider leaving out 2 cylinders, i.e., make a 900cc out of the B18 if your requirements aren't high. For a camshaft, there are plenty of profiles from other engines that would be better. Carburettor: a single SU of course. A generator only ever runs at the one RPM, so all you have to do is adjust the jet until it runs best at that RPM, it won't matter what needle is in it.
